Casting Call for Season 2 of ABC iView’s The Assembly

Are you an aspiring journalist with a passion for storytelling? Season 2 of The Assembly is now casting, and this is your chance to be part of a groundbreaking documentary series that celebrates diversity and talent.

Hosted and mentored by Leigh Sales, one of Australia’s most respected interviewers, The Assembly focuses on a group of 15 autistic journalism students and lecturers from Macquarie University. This unique series documents their journey as they hone their craft, guided by Sales, and prepare to interview some of Australia’s most iconic personalities.

Season 1 of The Assembly featured interviews with high-profile Australians including Sam Neill, Hamish Blake, Anthony Albanese, Delta Goodrem, Adam Goodes, and Amanda Keller. These remarkable interactions highlighted the unique perspectives and skills of the students, breaking down stereotypes and showcasing the talents of autistic individuals in the media industry.

Applicants must be aged 18 years or over and be available for filming between 7 April and 6 June in Sydney. 
Participants will need to be available for approximately 4 hours per day for 3 to 4 days a week during 7 April – 6 June 2025.
