Finding enjoyable and accessible physical activities can make a real difference for children and young people living with disability. An upcoming inclusive fitness clinic from MiniFit and What Ability is providing an opportunity for people living with disability to get active, try different movement activities and have some fun along the way.

Who are MiniFit?

MiniFit is a health and fitness organisation founded by former Australian rugby league player Anthony ‘Mini’ Minichiello. MiniFit delivers fitness, nutrition and lifestyle programs for children and young people, including school holiday clinics and school programs aligned with the NSW PDHPE syllabus. The organisation’s mission is to deliver quality, inclusive physical education in a positive environment, with programs designed to help students build confidence, self-esteem and healthy lifestyle habits. MiniFit also has experience working across inclusive and individual needs programs, with its team bringing backgrounds in teaching, physical education, special education, sport and outdoor education.

MiniFit’s free Inclusive Fitness Clinics will be held on Monday 28 September and are designed to support physical, sensory and cognitive development. The program will include activities aimed at developing skills such as balance, coordination, motor planning, body awareness, physical confidence and focus.

For families looking for disability fitness activities or inclusive sport in Sydney, this may be worth checking out. The clinic is centred around movement and participation rather than sporting ability or competition, which may be particularly useful for children and young people who find traditional sporting programs difficult to access or enjoy.

The clinic is being delivered in partnership with What Ability, a disability support organisation providing services across Sydney and other parts of Australia. This particular event is being offered as a free opportunity for people living with disability to take part in an inclusive fitness program.

The clinic will be held at Jubilee Stadium, with places limited. Families interested in attending are encouraged to check the official MiniFit or What Ability information and register directly with the organisers for further details.

Please note:

Autism Advisory and Support Service is not the organisers of the clinic and are not the point of contact for bookings, registrations, accessibility questions or event enquiries. For more information and to register: Visit the official MiniFit Inclusive Clinics page HERE
