Dare to be Different – Celebrating Neurodiversity This April!

April is just around the corner, bringing with it many celebrations, including Easter, World Art Day, and International Dance Day. But one date holds a special place in our hearts… April 2nd – World Autism Acceptance/Awareness Day.

This day is an opportunity to increase awareness and acceptance of autism, helping to build a society where neurodivergent people are not just included but truly valued for who they are. It’s a time to celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions of autistic individuals.

Every autistic person experiences the world differently. The best way to understand their needs? Ask, listen, and learn. A simple “How can I support you?” can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Dare to be Different!

Our Dare to be Different program, developed by Autism Advisory & Support Service, encourages conversations about neurodiversity, strengths, and individuality. By embracing differences, we create a more accepting and inclusive world for everyone.

Each year, we invite schools to take part in this initiative by hosting a Mufti Day, Crazy Hair Day, Silly Sock Day, or a Dare to be Different Day. Students can participate and donate a gold coin to Autism Advisory & Support Service, helping us continue our vital work in the community.
