When we here at Autism Advisory & Support Service created the Work Prep Connect Program, we knew we had something special on our hands. This program was designed to make a real difference, providing participants with practical skills and opportunities while providing a sense of community and inclusion.
While we knew it, the test was to see if others would… and they have!
On the 26th of November, the 2024 President’s Dinner and Training Awards, hosted by Tourism Training Australia, brought together leaders and innovators in tourism, hospitality, and education. It was an incredible evening, celebrating excellence and recognising outstanding contributions in these fields.
Well, we are thrilled to share that our Work Prep Connect Program was nominated in partnership with our friends at TAFE NSW for the prestigious Innovation Training Initiative Award… and WE WON!
This award is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in the program. A special shout-out to our amazing TAFE Hospitality Teacher, Sonya Moulang, who attended the ceremony and proudly accepted the award on behalf of TAFE NSW and Autism Advisory & Support Service.
Winning this award highlights the impact of the Work Prep Connect Program in developing real-world skills and opportunities. The program provides participants with hands-on experience but beyond work skills, the program also creates a supportive environment where participants can build meaningful friendships and expand their social networks, helping them grow both personally and professionally. It’s a proud moment for all of us, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from our team and participants.
