What is Woodturning?
Woodturning is a form of woodworking. It is the art and craft of using hand-held tools on a wood lathe which turns a piece of wood into an object.
It is estimated that wood turning has been practiced from as early as the 6th century BC yet this amazing art form seems to have been forgotten… but not by everyone!
Friend of Autism Advisory & Support Service
Our friend Jimmy, a young man diagnosis with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 6, has been woodturning since turning 14.
Jimmy belongs to a local wood turning club where he first learnt this fascinating craft and we are so lucky as Jimmy has been a supporter of Autism Advisory & Support Service for many years.
Jimmy has built up his own small business and regularly attends a number of local markets where he sells his unique and popular creations.
Each piece is turned, sanded and finished by hand…. something that takes so much time and dedication all of which you can see in his work.
Below you can see Jimmy’s current product flyer along with his contact details which you can use to place an order from his amazing range of items.
