The Living on the Spectrum LOTS Family Gala Day at Cathy Freeman Park Homebush, held on Saturday September 10th 2022 was a great day out for the whole family.
Federal Member for Reid Sally Sitou MP opened the event and a we had special guest appearance by Paralympic wheelchair racer and leading coach Louise Sauvage, OAM to start the day… and what a day it was!
We had rides, games, a talent show, an art competition, information stall from a range of service providers, a petting zoo, face painting, hair braiding and so many fun things to do that the kids didn’t know where to start!
Attendees rode the trackless train, took a swing on the pirate ship, then bounced around in the dodgems and those brave enough jumped on the sizzler or zoomed down the super slide. Families experienced the amazing Toyota V8 Forklift named Grumpy which you could hear across the park & our friends in Emergency Services had their vehicles on display which is always a hit.
For the grown-ups, there were information stalls where they could learn about different services and products available to families and at every glance the stands were 3 deep in people waiting to expand their knowledge and connections.
Afterwards, it was time for the talent show. This was definitely a highlight of the day! We saw some amazing performances that had everyone cheering with delight! & the Faber Castel art competition saw some really incredible pieces of art and It was so great to see such creativity and talent from our entrants.
The Go Wild petting zoo saw our guests getting up close and personal with all of the different animals while some preferred to head down the other end of the park to take a shot at the AFL Greater Western Sydney Big Kick game.
All in all, it was a huge success and there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to have fun.
Thank you to all our Attendees, Stall holders, Sponsors and Volunteers for making this event one to remember!
