Navigating NDIS Employment Supports: Free Webinar

Navigating NDIS Employment Supports

For many individuals with disabilities, finding and maintaining meaningful employment is an important step toward independence and financial security. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) offers various supports to help participants achieve their employment goals, but understanding what’s available and how to access it can be challenging.

That’s why we’re excited to share with you the upcoming free webinar: Navigate NDIS employment supports with confidence!
Presented by SSI Local Area Coordination, this interactive session will provide practical guidance on how to make the most of NDIS employment supports and set yourself up for success.

Understanding NDIS Employment Supports

The NDIS provides several funding options to help individuals with disabilities gain skills, access employment, and receive workplace support. These supports can include:

  • Finding and Keeping a Job (SLES & Employment Support Funding) – Assistance with job preparation, skill development, and on-the-job support.
  • Capacity Building Supports – Training and development to enhance work-related skills.
  • Personalised Support – Help from a support worker in the workplace to ensure a smooth transition into employment.
  • Assistive Technology & Workplace Modifications – Funding for tools, equipment, or modifications that make the workplace more accessible.

How to Prepare for Your NDIS Planning Meeting

One of the most crucial steps in securing the right employment supports is preparing for your NDIS planning or plan review meeting.
To make the most of your meeting, consider the following:

✅ Identify your employment goals – Do you need assistance finding a job, or do you require workplace support?
✅ Gather evidence – Reports from therapists, job coaches, or employers that outline your support needs.
✅ Research available services – Understanding what providers offer can help you make informed choices.
✅ Ask for specific funding – Clearly state the supports you need to increase your chances of approval.

Connecting with Providers & Additional Resources

Navigating the NDIS can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. There are many service providers and community resources available to assist with job training, workplace accommodations, and career planning. This upcoming webinar will help you explore these options and connect with the right providers.
