Lifestart is a not-for-profit organisation who run the Hanen More than Words Program and they have shared with the Autism Advisory team information on their upcoming November Online Groups which can be funded using your NDIS plan.
The Hanen More Than Words Program is training that provides parents and carers with the tools, strategies and support to understand their child’s unique needs and to help build their communication and social skills.
If you are;
- Caring for a 0-5 year old child with Autism (or who might have Autism?)
- Keen to learn how you can help them connect and communicate?
- Available on Wednesdays starting in November?
Then the Hanen program might be for you!
In the program you can expect:
- A 12-week intensive program to help you learn how to connect with your child
- Interactive group sessions with other parents and our highly skilled Speech Therapists
- 8 x group sessions running from 11am- 1:30pm on Wednesdays. First group session November 9
- 4 x one-on-one sessions: to practice the skills learned in groups. First individual session late October/ early November.
