Paint Liverpool REaD Annual Reading Day 2025

The Paint Liverpool REaD Annual Reading Day is back for 2025, bringing families and the community together to celebrate the joy of books, stories, and reading. This free event will take place on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00 noon at PCYC, 100 Cartwright Avenue, Miller.

The morning will be filled with activities for children of all ages. Families can look forward to story sharing, singing, craft activities, and plenty of opportunities for reading and play. There will also be face painting, morning tea, and interactive fun designed to encourage children to engage with books in an enjoyable and supportive setting.

A highlight of this year’s event will be a special book reading with Kritika Singh, author of Billabong Bus. Children will have the chance to listen to Kritika bring her story to life, making it an inspiring and memorable experience.

GoGo Gecko, the much-loved mascot of Paint Liverpool REaD, will also be there to join in the fun. Families are encouraged to come dressed in red for GoGo Gecko as part of the celebration.

The Paint Liverpool REaD initiative is focused on building a culture of reading in the community by encouraging children to experience the joy of stories from an early age. Events like the Annual Reading Day are designed to create shared experiences that bring families and communities together while highlighting the importance of literacy in children’s development.

This year’s gathering promises to be a morning full of colour, creativity, and connection. Whether it’s enjoying a story, singing along with others, or taking part in craft activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
