What is Children’s Week?
Children’s Week is a national celebration that recognises and promotes the rights of children to enjoy childhood and reach their full potential. In Australia, it began in 1954 as a way to mark Universal Children’s Day, and it has since grown into a week-long celebration of children, their achievements, and their vital role in our communities. Each year, Children’s Week is guided by a theme based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and events are held across the country to engage, educate, and celebrate young people.
This year’s event at Fairfield Showground brings together families and service providers for a joyful afternoon of connection and community.
The event is proudly brought to you by the Fairfield Family Events Working Group, including Fairfield City Council, The Parks Community Network, Woodville Alliance, The Smith Family, STARTTS, CORE Community Services, Creating Links, and NSW Police Force.
Please note: Autism Advisory & Support Service (AASS) are not the organisers or contacts for this event. For all enquiries, please contact the organisers directly at 02 9895 1290.
Come and be part of a day that celebrates our children!
