Smiles, Music and Joy: Music 4 Health Concert at Mounties

The Music 4 Health concert, with members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, is always our favourite event of the year.
Over the years, the concert has evolved in format, with different styles of performances and new approaches to engaging children and families.
Despite these changes, the joy it brings remains just as strong as it did in the very first year.

The Power of Music

Music has the ability to engage, entertain and comfort listeners of all ages. It can capture attention, evoke emotions and create moments of connection between performers and audiences. For children with additional needs, music provides a unique way to express themselves and respond to their surroundings. Live performances allow participants to experience rhythm, melody and movement in ways that stimulate enjoyment and focus. The Music 4 Health concert demonstrates how music can bring joy, participation and shared experiences that stay with children and families long after the event.

What makes this event so special is the happiness it brings to the children. Many clapped along, moved to the rhythm, or simply sat captivated by the music. Parents always comment on how much their children enjoyed the performances and how great it is to have the opportunity to attend a music event tailored to their needs.

For our organisation, the Music 4 Health concert is more than just a performance. It is a day that celebrates music, enjoyment and happiness. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces reminds us why we continue to support and attend this event each year.

The concert, with help from our friends at Mounties, continues to be a highlight on our calendar, and we are already looking forward to next year’s performances.
